Judging by the past couple of years in the gaming industry, it looks like no company is safe from insider information, leaks, or rumors, not even the big ones like Rockstar, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Sony, EA, and so on. Gran Turismo 7 has been in the spotlight of such news regarding a PC port that might arrive in 2024.
Gran Turismo's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, recently tweeted a mysterious short video about three cars meant to arrive with the upcoming update, slated from Monday, February 26, onward.

It's become almost a tradition to tease each content drop in this kind of cryptic manner. Of course, it doesn't take long until people figure out what the models are.

Even Steve Alvarez Brown (@_SuperGT), a known Bilstein driver and sim racing YouTuber, trolled a bit by saying the cars hidden behind the shroud of darkness are the Toyota GT-One TS020, Ferrari 296 GT3, and Koenigsegg Agera R. The Toyota TS020 made an appearance in 1999's Gran Turismo 2 and it's pretty sought-after. No wonder some people in the comment section got nostalgic upon reading Steve's fake guesses.

Now let's talk shop. People have identified the cars in Yamauchi's post as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII or IX, the Renault 4, and the 2009 Audi TTS. Let's break them down.

The most powerful Evo VIII (2003-2005) came with a 2.0-liter 16V turbocharged engine that could deliver 276 hp or 280 ps and 289 lb-ft or 392 Nm of torque. It was AWD, of course, with a 5-speed manual transmission system and went from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (249 kph).

The Evo IX (2005-2007) had the same 4G63 engine but had more work done on the body to shave off 0.2 seconds from the 0-60 acceleration time.

Next, the (2008-2014) Audi TTS Coupe was launched at the '08 North American International Auto Show as an even sportier TT coupe. The TTS donned the revised four-cylinder 2.0-TFSI engine, producing 268 hp (272 ps) with 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

It was AWD and came with a dual-clutch automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox. The auto version accelerated from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 5.3 seconds and had a top speed of 155 mph or 249 kph. The manual did it in 5.2 seconds, maxing at 155.3 mph (250 kph).

Finally, the Renault 4 was a long-running series born in 1961 and lasted until 1992. Urban legend has it that it actually survived until 1994 in Slovenia. Don't expect it to go fast in GT 7 because it's more of a period piece, not a Ferrari SF90. However, new leaks of an electric revival have been spotted roaming the interwebs. It's believed to produce 134 hp or 136 ps fed by a 40- or 52-kilowatt battery pack.

We'll await further official confirmation, but this should be the gist. Now, aside from the GT 7 on PC leaks and whatnot, there's even more exciting news regarding other PlayStation AAA 1st-party titles that might hit PC this year, like God of War Ragnarok, TLOU Part 2, Demon's Souls, and Ghost of Tsushima.

PlayStation officially announced that Horizon Forbidden West is coming out on Steam on March 21, so it's not all that hard to believe other titles will be joining it on Windows. Sony usually releases PC ports during summer, so we'll wait and see. The best part is that they're bound to arrive sometime; it's just a matter of when, not if.
