The first-ever partially electrified Urus, the SE, has just pledged allegiance to the red, white, and blue flag. Lamborghini has brought it to our shores for the first time since it broke cover last week.
Contributing to the automaker's path towards electrification, next to the Revuelto supercar, the model was unveiled locally at a private event held in New York City attended by the brand's head honcho, Stephan Winkelmann, and other Lamborghini officials.

"SUVs are in high demand in the US market, so as we continue down the path to electrification, it is vital that we provide our customers with a fun-to-drive hybrid that can also meet their everyday needs," said Winkelmann.

Lamborghini hasn't published the local pricing of the new Urus SE. However, the model is expected to start at around $245,000, going up to around $275,000. The Sant'Agata Bolognese exotic car marque says customer deliveries will commence at the end of the year.

Powering the Urus SE is the brand's familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which churns out 611 horsepower (620 ps/456 kW). The electric motor sits inside the eight-speed automatic transmission, generating 189 horsepower (192 ps/141 kW). Lamborghini says the total output is rated at 789 horsepower (800 ps/588 kW), and the vehicle unleashes 701 pound-foot (950 Nm) of torque.

This means the Urus SE is 132 hp (134 ps/99 kW) and 74 pound-feet (100 Nm) of torque more powerful than the Urus Performante (and the S). The Performante takes 3.3s (3.5s for the S) to reach 62 mph (100 kph), and the plug-in hybrid model is one-tenth of a second slower. Flat-out, it can do 194 mph or 312 kph.

Although unimpressive compared to other fast electrified crossovers, the Urus SE has an all-quiet range of 37 miles (60 km) with the 25.9 kWh battery pack fully charged. It also features a new face with different headlights, a tweaked bumper, and a redesigned grille, fresh trim on the tailgate, and a few other bits and bobs. The Urus SE sits on 23-inch alloys shod in Pirelli P Zero tires.

Inside, it has a larger 12.3-inch infotainment, different air vents that are still on the rather bland side of things, new materials on the console said to improve the mechanical feel of the switches, new coverings for the seats and dashboard, and that's about everything.

Lamborghini should allow journalists from all over the world to check out the Urus SE first-hand in the near future. That said, the clock is ticking until the first reviews come out, and we can't wait to see whether it is the best choice as far as the Lamborghini Urus family is concerned. That said, if you had to choose between the S, Performante, and SE, what color would your Ferrari Purosangue have?
