Revealed with much pomp in September 2022 for model year 2023, the new Super Duty has finally touched down in Mexico in four guises: F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550. Even though Mexico is part of NAFTA, the Super Duty is priced much higher in this part of the world.
Let's kick things off with the F-250 XLT 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 standard output 4x4. In the United States of America, this configuration is $53,965 plus $1,895 for freight. As for Mexico, said truck is 1,445,000 pesos ($87,720 at current exchange rates).

Quite a dramatic jump, don't you think? The Limited carries a starting price of 2,365,000 pesos or – are you sitting down? – an eye-watering 138,660 freedom eagles. Moving on to the Chassis Cab, the F-350 XL through F-550 XL range between 1,015,000 and 1,320,000 pesos (59,510 and 77,340 dollars at current exchange rates).

As opposed to the F-250, the heavier-duty chassis cabs come standard with the 7.3-liter gasser V8 as opposed to the Power Stroke mentioned earlier. Internally referred to as Godzilla, the 7.3er makes 335 horsepower and 468 pound-feet (635 Nm). The Chassis Cab-specific Power Stroke is rated at 330 horsepower and 950 pound-feet (1,288 Nm), whereas the Power Stroke for the F-250 comes with either 475 or 500 horsepower. The torque ratings for the standard and high-output tunes are 1,050 and 1,200 pound-feet (1,423 and 1,627 Nm).

Given these numbers, there is no denying that Ford has the heavy-duty segment all to itself for 2023. We also have to remember that – in the United States alone – Super Duty orders averaged 10,000 per day back in October 2022. There is a high possibility of a Super Duty Raptor joining the lineup at some point in the near future, according to Super Duty engineering manager Aaron Bresky, but nothing concrete has been decided in this regard thus far. The most off-road-capable Super Duty in production today is the Tremor, which isn't available in Mexico. A package rather than a trim level, Tremor can be had exclusively as a Crew Cab 4x4.

Available with the XLT and Lariat grades, Tremor costs $4,375 at press time. Compatible with both the 7.3-liter Godzilla and 6.7-liter Power Stroke in high-output guise, said package comes with a whole lotta upgrades, including 35-inch tires (285/75 by 18s), a rear electronic locking differential, a front limited-slip differential, performance shocks, transfer case and fuel tank skid plates, as well as ride height-increasing front springs.

The most impressive things about the Super Duty, however, are the high-output turbo diesel V8's peak torque, maximum payload capacity, and maximum towing capacity. Regarding the latter two, make that 8,000 and 40,000 pounds (3,629 and 18,144 kilograms). That being said, would you still consider that Ram HD or Chevy Silverado HD over the new-for-2023 Super Duty?
