New Bugatti Veyron Still Possible

Even if the French manufacturer recently presented the company’s latest contraption, the Galibier 16C concept, Bugatti might develop a new Veyron model after all. How? you might ask. Well, it appears that the carmaker is working on a “plan B” in case the Galibier doesn’t prove to be a market hit.

One of the options would be to develop a new Veyron model based on the technology and the platform used in the newly-launched concept, reported citing sources close to the matter.

"We could just make a new one using the Galibier's mechanicals,"
a company source told the aforementioned publication.

A second solution would be the development of a cheaper sedan model to be offered with a price tag of 400,000 British pounds.

As said, Bugatti showcased at the Frankfurt Auto Show the new Galibier concept, the same model we’ve seen in a bunch of brochures sent by the French manufacturer to a selected number of customers. Often referred to as the Bordeaux, the new concept will be powered by the same W16 engine available on the Veyron but with twin mechanical superchargers replacing the four turbochargers currently available on the car.

The final engine output is believed to be around 800 bhp.

Bugatti hasn’t decided yet whether to start production of the new concept as the company wants to collect some feedback from possible buyers before making a final decision. As a result, Bugatti will showcase the car at several events around the world, with the first production units projected to be rolled off the assembly lines, in case it looks like a hit, in the first months of the next year.
