New Aprilia SR Max Sports Scooter Makes UK Debut

The British division of the Piaggio Group has recently announced the introduction of the new Aprilia SR Max that is said to blend big-bike handling and braking performance with the practicality of a scooter. Highlights of the SR Max sports scooter include large diameter wheels, a top-class chassis and 35mm hydraulic forks that give the responsiveness and feel of a motorcycle.

Sporty RSV4-inspired styling contrasts with practical features like a large underseat storage bay, ample pillion seat and adjustable heater vents that direct warm air from the radiator onto your legs on cold rides. A 260mm disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper on the front and a 240mm disc on the rear provide powerful stopping power.

The SR Max is available in both 125cc and 300cc versions. Both are liquid-cooled, electronically injected motors. The SR Max 125 is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4v, 125cc engine. It is equipped with electronic injection and makes 15bhp at 9,250rpm – the maximum legal limit for a learner.

The SR Max 300 is equipped with a single cylinder, 4v, liquid cooled, electronically-injected 278cc engine. It offers the perfect balance between power & economy for city commuting and enough grunt for out-of-town work.

The saddle on the SR Max has undergone extensive ergonomic testing. Aprilia says the result is a seat that guarantees comfort, whether riding solo or two-up. It features lumbar support for the rider and sturdy grab handles for the pillion.

Both models are available in Nero Aprilia (black & red) or Bianco Glam (white). The SR Max 125 costs £3,599 OTR, while the SR Max 300 is £3,899 OTR.
