Hyundai's flagship crossover, the Palisade, has just entered the 2024 model year in the United States and comprises a new entry to the range. It is called the Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition and is a new range-topping trim level.
Building on the previous top-of-the-line Calligraphy, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition brings a sinister makeover to the lineup, so long as you order it in Abyss Black, that is, as it can also be had in Hyper White.

Stuff such as the dark-tinted chrome on the grille, rear bumper garnish, tailgate logos, glossy black accents on the lower parts of the front and rear fascias, dark-tinted door side moldings, door handles in the same color as the rest of the body, black roof rails, and a set of 20-inch alloys with a black-liquid look contribute to its styling.

As you can imagine, the Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition features a similar makeover on the inside, too. Here, the Korean car manufacturer mentions the premium microsuede upholstery in a dark theme that replaces the Nappa leather found on the regular Calligraphy and the dark aluminum trim on the upper console. Moreover, this model is also available with an all-black interior.

Just like the normal Calligraphy on which it builds, the Night Edition features heated and ventilated first and second-row seats, heated third-row, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and an equally-sized digital gauge cluster, satellite radio, Harman Kardon audio, a sunroof, a digital rearview mirror, head-up display, ambient lighting, and a generous range of safety gear.

When it comes to the oily bits, the range-topper high-riding Hyundai features the brand's all-wheel-drive system as standard. It also gets downhill brake control and the tow and snow driving modes. Power is supplied by the same engine found on the rest of the range, the 3.8-liter V6 making 291 hp (295 ps/217 kW) at 6,000 rpm, with the thrust being rated at and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) and available at 5,200 rpm.

The eight-speed auto 'box delivers everything to both axles, and the vehicle returns 19 mpg (12.4 l/100 km) in the urban jungle, 24 miles per gallon (9.8 l/100 km) on the highway, and 21 mpg (11.2 l/100 km) combined or identical to the rest of the all-wheel drive versions of the 2024 Palisade, considering that all of them feature the same engine.

In terms of pricing, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition kicks off at $53,600, excluding the $1,335 destination charge. This makes it $3,500 more expensive compared to the normal Calligraphy, which can be had from $50,100. The lineup starts with the SE that's available from $36,400. The SEL and XRT will set interested parties back at least $39,150 and $41,550, respectively, and the Limited completes the offering with its $47,700 MSRP.
