You know what they say, dress for the occasion or dress to feel comfortable. Here’s a man who obviously opted for the latter and went completely nude during a wild police chase that ended in East Los Angeles.
The chase started in the early hours of Friday, after officers spotted a truck that had been reported stolen 20 minutes earlier, going west on the 10 Freeway through Boyle Heights and onto the 101 Freeway, ABC7 reports.
Several police cruisers chased after the truck, before its driver pulled over in a cul-de-sac. The man got out and continued the chase on foot, but the reason he’s making headlines is the fact that he was, for whatever reason, stark naked.
He may have been sans clothes, but he wasn’t without determination to get away. Police chased him on foot for 15 minutes, on dirt grounds and through a homeless camp, across busy streets and down an embankment. A police helicopter above provided the light that was needed to continue the pursuit, as you can see in the 2 videos available at the bottom of the page.
“Officers closed in as he hid under trees, but the man then ran down an embankment and across several busy freeway connector roads, dodging cars,” ABC7 reports. The man was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.
His identity is yet to be made public, as is the reason for his nakedness or for the intense, dangerous police chase. Had he only stolen the car, one would assume he would have pulled over sooner, so something more serious must have been happening.
One thing is certain, though: now that he’s in custody, we know for sure he’s got at least some clothes on. And he will probably be wearing orange for some time, too, so here’s to hoping it’s his color.
