MV Agusta F3 Development On Track, Sales to Begin This Fall

Probably one of the most anticipated two-wheeled vehicles of the moment, the MV Agusta F3 is moving closer and closer to us. The three-cylinder hypersport, which has been voted as the most beautiful bike at the EICMA 2010 show in Milan, is currently exceeding development targets in terms of power and handling.

In fact, MV Agusta tells us that it has been able to anticipate the industrialization of the F3 by 4 months. Thanks to the financial stability of the Group, which has to date exceeded the business plan, the pre-production and production are planned to begin mid September and the F3 will be available for sale in late autumn.

The bike comes fitted with a 675cc three-cylinder engine that delivers around 140 hp, using a segment-first Ride By Wire system with multiple applications, offering the best output in various riding conditions. However, the most eye-catching element of the new F3 supersport bike is the triple side exit exhaust system.

“The engine has proven to be extremely reliable on the engine test bench during durability test cycles and has exceeded the power target at this level of development. The engine has already surpassed 135 CV and rev’s over 15,000 rpm. The dynamic performance of the engine has had a direct positive impact on the motorcycle as it combines the perfect combination of over-rev typically found on four cylinder engines with the increased torque offered by a three cylinder engine configuration,” MV Agusta explains in a company statement.

“The counter-rotating crankshaft, a defining feature that separates the F3 from the competition, guarantees superior handling that cannot be matched by motorcycles with a conventional engine architecture. The counterrotating crankshaft not only offers an advantage during fast direction changes, there is also a massive benefit with regards to weight transfer during acceleration offering an increase in rear wheel traction,”
the company further shares.
