Moto Guzzi Turns 90, Launches Anniversary Blog

Celebrating in 90th anniversary this year, Europe’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer has launched a dedicated blog in the United States that honors the Italian brand’s heritage, engineering milestones, as well as its owners and fans.

Fans of the great “Italian Eagle” are thus invited to visit the Moto Guzzi Heritage Blog at the following link, and join in on the celebration by submitting photos and sharing stories about their Moto Guzzi motorcycle and connection to the brand.

“Whether riders own a vintage or modern Moto Guzzi, we’d love to learn more about their motorcycle and what drew them to the brand. Authors of entries featured on the blog will receive a gift bag of Moto Guzzi merchandise,” the North American division of the company says in a statement for the press.

Riders and enthusiasts are also encouraged to visit the blog every Monday for nine consecutive weeks, and view the “Nine Decades of Moto Guzzi,” photo and caption collection highlighting the most significant bikes from each decade. Each Wednesday, Moto Guzzi will feature a user submitted story and on every Friday for nine consecutive weeks, a “Photo of the Day” will be posted from the Moto Guzzi family, highlighting a memorable moment in Moto Guzzi history.

The company was founded in 1921 on the shores of Lake Como in the village of Mandello del Lario, Italy, where the motorcycles are still manufactured today.

As Europe’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer, Moto Guzzi has notched up no fewer than 3,300 racing wins including 14 world GP titles, 22 world records and 11 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy wins in the course of its long history.

Among Moto Guzzi’s technical innovations are the swing arm suspension in 1928, the V8 race bike in 1955, and the 90-degree V-Twin, a legend from the moment it was introduced in 1967.
