The Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 was a sports bike made by Moto Guzzi from 1992 until 1999 when it was replaced by the Moto Guzzi MGS-01 Corsa. It was part of the same family as the Moto Guzzi V10 Centauro.

In 1997, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Moto Guzzi Daytona RS, a sports motorcycle that, compared to the standard model, came with several improvements that enhanced its capabilities.

The bike featured 10 mm larger Brembo Oro floating discs on the front, a WP inverted fork instead of the previously used Marzocchi unit, and Marchesini wheels with a 17-inch unit instead of 18-inch on the rear.

Also, the engine received a slight tune with a raised compression ratio, more horsepower due to using different camshaft profiles, a new ECU mapping, and a more advanced Magneti Marelli 16M fuel injection system.

Visually, the bike was similar to the standard model, packing a prominent front fairing with a single headlight and a windscreen, a two-piece dual seat instead of a single seat, a dual exhaust system, and different three-spoke alloy wheels.

As for power, the 1997 Moto Guzzi Daytona RS was powered by the same 992cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine as the base model, delivering 102 hp at 8,500 rpm and 87 Nm (64 lb-ft) torque at 6,600 rpm.
