We're more than halfway through 2023, and that means there's not much time left for BMW to make a big fuss out of it. After all, a company turns a century old only once, so tons of celebrations would have been in order.
As it stands, the German bike maker does not seem to have gone overboard in trying to make people aware of this important moment in its history. In fact, the only thing we're now looking forward to that's somewhat tied with the celebrations is the upcoming launch of the new R 1300 GS. Oh, and there's the opening of the BMW Motorrad Welt museum at the end of September, but that's about it.

As if trying to get people's mind of the rather poor offering of celebratory products and events, BMW announced at the end of last week what updates it plans to bring to some of its most important models for the 2024 model year.

We'll start with what the Germans plan to offer on the American market, because quite frankly the most exciting new features and hardware are planned there. And the list in centered on the Intelligent Emergency Call.

ECALL for short, the system automatically calls a BMW center whenever it detects the bike has been involved in an accident. It can also be activated manually by the rider by pressing an SOS button located on the right side handlebar.

Not all BMW bikes sold in the U.S. will get the feature, but the most coveted will: the F 900 R and XR, K1600, R 1250, R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental, S 1000 R and RR, and the mighty CE 04 scooter.

Some of the models currently being offered, including the ones selling in market other than North America, are getting revamped at a visual level only, with some of the colors currently being offered removed, and new ones released in their place. No technical or mechanical modifications are provided for any of the bikes BMW will be selling as 2024 model-year rides.

Below you can find the list of BMW Motorrad bikes and their prices (destination tax not included) for the American market for the 2024 model year. New versions should be available on dealers lots from August.
