If the regular Lexus CT-200h wasn’t green enough for you, UK buyers can now opt for a version of the car which is even more efficient. However, unlike other manufacturers who charge you extra for taking stuff out, the new ‘S’ trim CT-200h is the cheapest in the range.
So, what have they done to the new ‘S’ trim? Well, it now features smaller 15-inch alloy rims, and gains a rear spoiler of increased proportions, which helps it achieve a CO2 rating of 87 g/km, whereas the regular model only achieves 94 g/km.

It is £1,790 cheaper than the old cheapest model, costing a rather reasonable £21,995, for what you are getting. The SE-I ex-entry-level trim changes its name to SE, and becomes the second model up, after the S, and it adds power-folding mirrors, as well as other amenities, while the old SE-L trim is now replaced by ‘Luxury’, which adds Smart Entry and Start. SE-L Premier loses the SE-L, ending up with just ‘Premier’.

The F Sport trim doesn’t change its name, and adds electric height adjustment for the passenger’s seat, as well as the aforementioned Smart Entry and Start. It also gets DAB digital radion, DVD player, and fully-electrical passenger seat adjustment.

Another new feature which is present on all models, even the new S trim, is a revised central armrest in the front, which now benefits from softer padding, helping take the strain out of long journeys, a task which the CT-200h does very well, an ability which surprised us during our test drive of the car.
