Regular folks usually have just one or maybe two cars per family. But the same doesn't apply to the rich and famous, who have just about everything – and anything in between. Let's take an eloquent example from the West Coast's aftermarket realm.
Talent manager Moe Shalizi, founder of the Shalizi Group and the brain and heart behind the likes of Marshmello, Alesso, and recently also Afrojack, is the perfect example of passion and business wits. Aside from his professional duties, he also has a never-ending stream of old and new vehicles joining his select garage. Just recently, for example, the good folks over at RDB LA got his new Porsche 911 GT3 RS – dressed in black and crimson, of course – hooked to a screaming new exhaust system to ensure this ride will stand out in any crowd.
That's a gentleman driver's car, for sure, with a twist of motorsport insanity sprinkled on top to make it heavenly. But there are also moments when Shalizi probably just wants to relax, unwind, and now take care of the daily driving duties. Well, for that, he now has yet another 'classic' ride – an all-black fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade ESV. And, of course, the long-wheelbase full-size SUV is not stock – but instead, it flaunts a subtle widebody aerodynamic kit with cool front and rear elements plus exotic fender flares.
Plus, it naturally rides on something chromed and shiny – that would be a nice 'little' new set of 26-inch Forgiato Trimestre of the 'slant lip' variety. The fit and finish make this Escalade ESV feel ready to appear in any 1990s rap or mobster movie, but most likely, it will fare the talent manager to and from various concerts where his artists make their superstar appearances. As for additional details, there are none – so we don't know if this Escalade ESV is of the V variety or not. Most likely, it's not, so we can bet the trusty old 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine purrs under the hood to the tune of 410 ponies instead of the supercharged stable of 682 hp.
Well, if you want a little more – and since we talked about RDB LA – they recently completed a quick transformation of the 644-hp or 738-hp BMW XM (Label Red) and tried to make it a tad more palatable. The wrap they used is a custom Hexis vinyl, and the choice was so good that the channel's fans started thinking the crossover SUV suddenly became a little more attractive. Ultimately, the hard choice falls upon us – do we give our seal of aftermarket approval to Moe's black-and-chrome slant-lipped widebody Caddy Escalade ESV or RDB's crazy wrap of the bonkers BMW XM?
