A brand new Regular Car Reviews episode is out today and it features a 2012 MINI Countryman Cooper S. This is probably the best sold model made by MINI right now, and that's because it has more practicality than the regular hatchback. But that also means it's kind of fat and looks like its bursting at the seams.
The review says despite being a punk rocker in design, it's still conservative inside, with beiges and black throughout. He compares it to a stubborn zit that won't go away, or the skeleton that is Keith Richard from The Rolling Stones.
Is this unfounded satire? Well it is to a point, because the Countryman is in a car in a class of its own, giving people what they want. But the all-wheel drive system is there just so you can say it has it. For example, you might find that while taking a higher speed corner, you won't be able to rely on added traction from the back, because it's automatically cut off above 150 km/h.
