MINI announced today that it will be continuing its integration of iPhone apps into the MINI Connected infotainment platform, by signing new partnerships with 4 major app developers: Audible, Rhapsody, Glympse and TuneIn.
Keeping track of the customer demand, MINI is constantly improving its app integration with car systems, in order to offer the best possible experience for its tech-savvy drivers.
Audible is the world's largest producer and seller of digital spoken-word entertainment and will be responsible for creating an app that will allow MINI drivers to access their library through the BMW iDrive controls and menu display just by speaking.
Rhapsody is an ad-free, on-demand music service used by more than 1 million members and will be offering MINI customers the option of choosing from over 16 million tracks, aiming to offer something for every taste.
Glympse is a location-sharing application that allows users to share their location with anyone. Using this app with your MINI Connected system will let you to send your location to your friends or family via e-mail or Facebook and Twitter. This way recipients can notice the real-time progress you make on a dynamic map.
TuneIn allows users from around the world to listen to their radio stations from anywhere on the globe, using an internet connection. It includes over 2 million on-demand streams from every continent. Using this app will enable iPhone users to tune in to any radio (not only local ones) while driving around town.
