MG’s stunning Icon has been awarded the very prestigious title of ‘Best Concept’ at the Beijing Motor Show. The Icon triumphed over the Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes CSC and Honda’s Concept C.
The crossover concept was created by the MG global design team, lead by its British director Anthony Williams-Kenny. Its stunning design takes inspiration from classic MG models such as the MGA and the MGB from which it borrows the basic headlight shape. The concept features rear suicide doors and a proper low slung stance, despite being quite high off the ground.
Rumors have spread that MG may be putting it into production around the year 2014, though we cannot verify the information. Despite it being heralded as a design success, MG has no official plans to make a production version. Pitty!
