Summer is almost here and we can already feel the sun invading racetracks from around the world. This makes us agitated, as we’re always looking to drive something fast. And it seems that we’re not the only ones that are ready to burn some a lot of rubber. Who else is also prepared to unleash some hp? Well, many, but the example we are going to give you is special, as it offers others the possibility to do so.
mcchip dkr, a German aftermarket developer, has just offered us a new reason to buy gasoline, releasing an engine upgrade for the Mercedes C63 AMG.
The tuner doesn’t mention if the starting point of the project was the standard 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 (if we can call it “standard”), which produces 457 hp and a peak torque of 599 Nm, or the Performance Package incarnation of the mill, which churns out 487 hp and the same amount of torque. However, judging by the post-tuning output, our money are on the second. So, let’s see what the tuning company gifted the unit with.
The V8 received a full sports exhaust system that comes from Cargraphic and includes a header, middle silencer and rear silencer, also offering a remote control that allows the driver to control the sound, as well as an ECU remap. The result? 583 hp and a peak torque of 692 Nm. The vehicle’s top speed is electronically limited to 310 km/h (192.5 mph). You can have the extra muscle for EUR10,000.
In addition to that, the car now rides on Cargraphic 19-inch rims that use a black finish and are wrapped in high-performance tires, with the set of wheels costing around EUR7,500.
