Alonso Takes Crying Journalist for a Ride in Ferrari 458 Italia

Every automotive or motorsports journalist in the world has at least two dreams that he or she wishes to came true. Drive an incredibly fast car or sit in the passenger seat and enjoy a ride with a world racing champion. And while the former is easier to get to – since we have test drives for that – few have the opportunity to live the latter.

Earlier this week, thanks to a Ferrari publicity stunt on the Fiorano race track, an Italian journalist had the privilege of being driven in a Ferrari 458 Italia by none other that two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. And boy, did he handle it wrong!

Our sincere and well-intended advice is to press the “Mute” button once you start the video below, since all you'll hear throughout the 6 minutes and 47 seconds of it will be an annoying crying-like laughter. While Alonso probably enjoyed his time at the wheel of the car, this guy obviously enjoyed it too much, and if it hadn't been for the profile view of the journalist at the end of the video, we could have sworn El Nano was actually taking Raquel del Rosario for a ride.

Of course, this media man is not alone in making a fool out of himself while being driven around a race track by a famous champion. Most of you might recall the famous test drive video back in 2009, when Damon Hill practically made a journalist throw up after a similar experience.

The most fun to watch however – in our view – is Ricardo Patrese's time with his wife at the wheel of a Honda Civic Type-R, on the Jerez race track. And just to save you the trouble of googling those videos or search it on YouTube, we attached them right below, so you can have some proper fun. Enjoy!
