Just a couple of days ago we were telling you about a slight reduction of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Index (MBCI) during the month of November 2013.
Well, it seems the that the overall trend was a positive one over the entire year, with the MBCI reporting an increase of 6.07 points (4.47 percent) in the last month of 2013, with the final index level growing by 26.98 percent compared to 2012.
The 300 SL (W198) was among some of the classic Mercedes-Benz models which had a rather significant value increase last year, with a growth between 30 and 40 percent not being uncommon for certain cars from this legendary models series in 2013.
Some of the more recent classic Mercedes-Benz cars, also called youngtimers - such as the SL (R107), E-Class (W124) or 190 (W201) – must have their original paintwork and parts to be given a top classification.
Low-volume production models like the epic Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution and 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II (W201) achieved over ten percent growth rates in 2013, further proof that some youngtimer Mercedes-Benz are already on their way to become even more treasurable collector's items.
