Panther Pink is not exactly the kind of color you'd consider for a ferocious muscle car with over 1,000 horsepower. However, someone did. Say hello to the world's only factory-built Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Jailbreak in Panther Pink.
Dodge has been offering some insane colors with the Dodge Challenger over the years. We've been mesmerized by the Crazy Plum and Hellraisin purple shades. We've been surprised by the Go Mango orange, and we turned our heads after the Sublime Green Challenger. But now, we get to see the only Challenger that rolled off the production line in Panther Pink.
However, not anybody can just go to a dealership and order a Challenger SRT Demon in bright pink. Dodge quietly offered the option to a select few celebrities and brand-loyal enthusiasts who are owners of several Dodge SRT products over a multiyear period. Only 40 such special customers, future owners of Jailbreak super exclusive versions, were able to spec their cars in a special color for an extra $30,000 on top of the $96,666 MRSP.
Each of the selected customers made a list of their top three favorite colors. If their first choice was already taken, their Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Jailbreak would end up painted in the color they chose as a second option. It is a first-come, first-served plan.
And here is the only one in Panther Pink, ready to be delivered. Dodge used to offer the bold pink back in the 1970s. It was actually a one-year color that Dodge made available for the R/T versions of the Challenger back then.
The pink Dodge Challenger Demon 170 Jailbreak comes with a contrasting Satin Black roof, hood, and boot lid. It rides on 20-inch Brass Monkey Forged Alum wheels.
The cabin is covered in protective plastic foils. However, we get to see there are seats in black nappa leather and Alcantara with contrasting white stitching. The owner selected the carbon fiber finish for the center console and dashboard.
The special customers can choose one of the 40 special colors, with the list consisting of 20 throwback colors and 20 special one-off tones. Dodge is building one car in each of the paint options, which means that there will not be two cars looking the same.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Jailbreak is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, which pumps out 1,025 horsepower (1,039 metric horsepower) and 945 pound-feet (1,280 Newton meters of torque).
Those numbers make the muscle car run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 2.3 seconds. For safety reasons, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) prohibits the owners of the model from going drag-racing in it unless they have a roll cage and a parachute.
