The McLaren Senna is a practical vehicle... as far as track cars go. However, if we are to treat the British missile as the road car that it is (after all, it does come with license plates), it's difficult to give it the label mentioned above. Well, it looks like the Internet has come up with a solution for the problem nobody had.
To be more precise, the McLaren Senna we have here has been rendered as a shooting brake. Why? Because the world wide web loves such renderings nowadays.
Then again, we have to mention the two categories that welcome such virtual S/B conversions. The first involves machines for which such a transformation could actually make sense by boosting the practicality factor of the vehicle.
As for the second category, this includes mid- or rear-engined vehicles, for whom adding the said space wouldn't bring too many extra usability points.
So now that we've established this 800 horsepower toy has received extra body panels for the fun of it, we'll move on to the look of the contraption.
Frankly, the hearse label is almost impossible to avoid, even though this one probably won't be able to transport anything more than an urn containing somebody's ashes.
On a more realistic note, the shooting brake genre is enjoying more popularity than ever these days. And the credit goes to automotive producers such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche (yes, these were listed in alphabetical order).
As for other renders such as the one sitting before us, the freshest example of this involves the Mk V Toyota Supra (of course), as we discussed last month.
P.S.: Make sure to use the swipe feature of the Instagram post portraying the McLaren Senna Shooting Brake, so you can also check out the original and easily compare the two.
