McLaren continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary, this time with the introduction of new options available across the range – so long as the range comprises a newly-ordered series production model, obviously.
Inspired by the completion of the Triple Crown, the British exotic car maker has introduced three new exterior paint colors. But what is the Triple Crown, you ask? That would be McLaren's wins in three prestigious motorsport races.
The company won the Indy 500 in 1974, the Monaco Grand Prix in 1984, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995. And it is these races that are being celebrated with three new paint finishes available across the entire series-production street-legal vehicle lineup.
Inspired by the bright orange hue of the 1974 Indy 500 M16D racer, the first one is aptly called Indy Orange. The Monaco White joins it, with inspiration coming from the 1984 MP4/2 F1 racer. Completing the offering is the Le Mans Gray, a tribute to the F1 GTR that won the famous endurance race back in 1995.
Besides the new paint finishes, McLaren has also introduced the so-called Triple Crown Stripes. The stripes are visible on the front hood and rear wing and will be limited to 60 cars only, a nod to the brand's 60th anniversary. There is a catch here, as only the McLaren 750S, which succeeded the 720S as a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh, can be ordered with this option. There is also a dedicated logo incorporated up front, whereas the rear end displays each individual year of victory.
Don't go anywhere yet, as Macca isn't done with the latest anniversary introductions. The exotic car manufacturer based in Woking, England, also mentions the special brake caliper rotors. The Le Mans Gold replicates the hue of the calipers equipping the winning F1 GTR, and the Indy Blue was inspired by the #3 racer that won the Indianapolis 500 race. These are available on the GT, Artura, and 750S.
Should you order your Macca with the optional glossy carbon fiber side mirror casings, then you could also opt to have the 'Speedy Kiwi' logo in Orange or Silver, which matches the plaque on cars fitted with the 60th Anniversary goodies, applied on them. McLaren's Triple Crown colors can also be replicated on the steering wheel paddle shifters.
As for the bespoke plaque mentioned above, it is limited to all of McLaren's cars that feature these options, displaying the 60th Anniversary logo in Orange. A '1-of-60' emblem joins it on the 750S fitted with the Triple Crown Stripes to highlight the supercar's special nature further. These options are available for a single year from November 2023, and the manufacturer says that its retailer network can answer all questions potential buyers may have on the topic.
