The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin McLaren Edition speaker transfers the sound experience from the supercar to the living room of your home if you are willing to pay around $900. The two companies have been working together to put high-end sound systems in the McLaren supercars and hypercars since 2015.
Finished in Galvanic Grey and Papaya Orange, the Zeppelin McLaren Edition is the result of the collaboration between McLaren and Bowers & Wilkinson. It is the two company’s way of celebrating their partnership as well as the carmaker’s 60th anniversary.

That is exactly why only sixty limited-edition Zeppelin McLaren 60th Anniversary Edition, inspired by 60 years of McLaren, will be produced. The limited-edition version sports racing livery-inspired colors such as vibrant orange, following the lines of the instantly recognizable silhouette of the Zeppelin. A Speedy Kiwi, the McLaren symbol that debuted in the late 1960s, is placed on the rear of the speaker as an homage to Bruce McLaren.

The new wireless speaker brings along upgraded multi-room connectivity, but also Amazon Music, Amazon Music HD, and Pandora music streaming via the Bowers & Wilkins Music App. The stereo system integrates a large subwoofer and two dedicated left and right speaker assemblies, all powered by 240W of amplification.

Bowers & Wilkinson has also come up with wireless mutt-room capability. The new feature allows users to connect and configure their in-home wireless speaker system via the application.

Customers can order the Zeppelin McLaren Edition starting October 11 for $899 from the Bowers & Wilkins website and selected retailers. Meanwhile, all the sixty examples of the limited-edition Zeppelin McLaren 60th Anniversary Edition will be exclusively available from select McLaren dealerships. But there is no word on the price of this one.

The collaboration between McLaren and Bowers & Wilkins started back in 2015. Based on the partnership, the latest McLaren supercar, the 750S, gets the latest speaker technology developed in Southwater, the headquarters of the Bowers & Wilkins research and development team since 2019. The center is only 30 miles away from the McLaren Technology Center in Woking.

The McLaren 750S is the replacement for the 720S and comes with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter engine, which develops, as the name indicates, 750 metric horsepower (740 horsepower) and 590 pound-feet (800 Nm) of torque. Those would be enough for a run from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 206 mph (332 kph).

Therefore, when getting behind the wheel of the supercar, drivers can choose to either listen to that V8 engine or blast music from the Bowers & Wilkins speakers, something that they can also do at home now. But the V8 can’t be listened to in the living room as well.

Last year, the two companies released similarly designed wireless headphones.
