An epic lightship and the debut of the new 750S supercar and of the Artura. This is how McLaren inaugurated its largest standalone showroom in the world in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
It is also the largest dedicated Service Center globally, operated by a team of McLaren-trained engineers with over 40 years of combined McLaren experience. The center has a capacity to service up to 150 cars per month. It is now part of a global network of over 100 locations in over 40 markets.

Over 200 customers and VIPs were present at the opening gala, together with Michael Letters, CEO of McLaren Automotive. It was just the right moment for the regional unveiling of the McLaren 750S in a dazzling lightship in downtown Dubai, which was visible for miles around, not far from the Burj Khalifa, which is still the tallest building in the world, but not for long.

The new McLaren showroom spans 950 square meters of floor space and has vast space for displaying the company’s automobiles. It also integrates the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) studio. That is where customers can customize the cars that they order in virtually unlimited manners.

The opening of the showroom in Dubai is seriously enhancing the presence of McLaren in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates is the biggest market in the region for the British carmaker.

The company is expecting the network to meet the ever growing demand and has ramped up the production of the Artura supercar, which was unveiled in 2022. It is McLaren’s first series-production high-performance hybrid model after the plug-in hybrid P1, now in its first full year of production.

It is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that operates alongside an electric motor for a combined output of 671 horsepower (680 PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Those are enough for the Artura to run from 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 200 kph (124 mph).

Furthermore, the newly introduced McLaren 750S is already sold out well into 2024. The successor of the 720S, the 750S is McLaren’s lightest and most powerful series production supercar, mostly due to the extensive use or lightweight materials. It comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V engine, rated at 710 horsepower (720 PS) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm). It does the 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed electronically limited to 341 kph (212 mph). The 750S does the quarter mile in 10.3 seconds. The supercar is equipped with the Drift Mode, which operates the stability control in order to let the model drift.

McLaren’s portfolio also includes the new Solus GT, a track-only, single-seat hypercar, previewed by the futuristic concept designed specifically for the Gran Turismo SPORT video game.

Powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, the Solus GT eventually moved from the virtual world to production, bringing along 829 horsepower (840 PS) and 650 Nm (479 Nm) of torque. Only 25 customers worldwide are getting it for a jaw-dropping price of $4 million. The first example was delivered back in August at The Quali, a Motorsports Gathering, taking place during the 2023 Monterey Car Week. The other 24 are to follow shortly.

This year, McLaren celebrates the 60th anniversary since racer Bruce McLaren founded the company.
