Some might say that the McLaren MP4-12C is a poor relative, but is that such a good thing. We’ve been hearing about plenty of tuning projects and customers willing to take that British supercar that extra mile.
Orders have only been coming in since the spring of last year, but Car and Driver says the Spyder version of the MP4-12C will arrive later this year. We’re not sure if this means a market rollout or not, but we’re still excited to see the car.

Rumor has it the car will be a convertible hard-top, which means it will still be relevant for the people looking to buy a Ferrari 458 Spider. According to previous reports, the roof will be made from lightweight carbon-fiber.

Power should still come from a 3.8-liter V8 engine with twin turbos developing 592-hp at 7,000 rpm. About the biggest change you can expect will be made to the exhaust system that will be retuned for the open-top experience.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
