You don't necessarily have to turn to tuners to make your supercar stand out more, as the automakers themselves have personalization divisions that can add more features to your blue-blooded model, including bespoke paint finishes, different wheels, and a few touches inside.
McLaren's MSO (McLaren Special Operations) has just expanded its offering to comprise a new paint: the Spectrum Theme. This special finish comprises seven (yep, you read that right, seven) hues. It's a segmented option that shifts from light to dark tones using stripes on the dihedral doors, and it's said to have been "a particular challenge for technicians" who had to place the Spectrum lines. Therefore, you can only assume that trying to repaint at your local shop after an unfortunate event will be almost impossible.

The all-new Spectrum Theme is limited to the 750S, which is the successor to the 720S. Nonetheless, you can think of it as more of a facelift than a new generation, as the changes are rather soft. The British supercar maker has only released images of the Spectrum Blue paint finish, but they claim that the Spectrum Gray and Spectrum Orange join it. Moreover, choosing this bespoke paint will still allow you to opt for other MSO goodies, including the lively-colored leather upholstery, bespoke plaque, extended visual carbon fiber door sills with hand-painted Spectrum-graded effect logos, and underside of the active rear wing that can be finished in a different color.

Unveiled in April, the McLaren 750S is billed as the brand's most powerful and lightest series production supercar. It features a new exhaust system with a center-mounted tip, improved steering ratio, improved suspension for quicker cornering, and carbon ceramic discs inspired by those of the Senna. It also gets a new bumper up front, extended splitter, larger vents on the wheel arches, a bigger rear wing, and optional titanium wheel bolts, and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. Lighter bucket seats are available instead of the standard ones, and it's offered with a new infotainment system, standard Apple CarPlay, USB sockets, and several other things.

Power comes from the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 equipping the 720S. Nonetheless, thanks to the new management system controls and lightweight pistons, it now develops 750 ps (740 hp/552 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, up 30 ps (30 hp/22 kW) and 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). The Coupe and Spider variants of the McLaren 750S take 2.8 seconds to hit 100 kph (62 mph), and they will run out of breath at 332 kph (206 mph). Strangely, the top speed is actually down compared to the 720S, which could keep going up to 341 kph or 212 mph. McLaren says the quarter-mile is dealt with in 10.1 seconds in the fixed-roof model, with the open-top variant being two-tenths slower.
