The McLaren 720S and the Audi RS7 have very few things in common and despite sharp drag racing skills being among these, the German long-roof is no match for the British supercar. Even so, the drag race that brought us here saw the driver of an RS7 challenging a 720S.
Palm Beach International Raceway. This is where the two drivers came across each other. And, as you'll get to see in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which documents the adventure, the race was far from perfect.

While the Audi driver played the Christmas Tree game properly, the wielder of the Macca seemed to take forever to launch. At first, it might seem the like driver of the 720S is a drag strip novice, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

The driver of the mid-engined machine is Brooks, the YouTuber behind the Drag Times channel. And since he owns the said supercar and has engaged in tons of drag races over the years, he knows that playing by the rules of the lights means the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 doesn't get to build boost properly. And so the aficionado deliberately held the car in place for longer, as he was aiming to make the most out of its potential.

Speaking of which, we must get to the numbers delivered by the two velocity monsters. The McLaren completed the run in 9.85 seconds, with a trap speed of 139 mph. For the sake of comparison, we'll mention the world record for a stock 720S sits at an astounding 9.7 seconds, which happens to make the thing quicker than a P1.

As for the Audi RS7, the example we have here is far from stock. So while the factory model takes 11.6 seconds to complete the 1/4-mile task, the one we have here did it in a brisk 10.35s, with its trap speed sitting at 131 mph.
