McLaren 720S Drag Races Ferrari 488 Spider, Schooling Takes Place

Now, the Maranello machine we have here might not be the best candidate for the job, since we're talking about the Spider version of the 488. Then again, this doesn't take away any of the joy that the battle brings to our heart.

The 670 hp Italian and the 720 hp Brit were brought together by Motorgrid Brasil, with the editors putting the mid-engined delights through their paces outside public roads.

Now, wondering about the difference the drivers can make is only natural, but you should know that the two editors did switch cars, as we're actually talking about two races here.

We have to admit that this drag race only brought us in the mood for... even more racing. So, in order for the Prancing Horse to stand a chance, we'd love to see the Macca duking it out with a Pista incarnation of the 488. After all, the special edition packs an extra 50 hp, while also being friendlier to the scales.

Then again, it won't be long until the Ferrari 488 Pista reaches its customers and we'll keep an eye out for any adventure involving the devil - keep in mind that the Prancing Horse has also released the 488 Pista Spider.

Of course, we'd also love to see how the British missile handles a straight-line fight against the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Sure, the Woking animal is slightly more potent and lighter, but Neunelfers are famous for their surprising performance, so here's to hoping we can bring you such an adventure soon.
