When guys try to impress a girl, they might buy her flowers and take her someplace nice, and they might even bust a macho move, like picking a fight with another man. Turns out rhinos aren’t really all that different.
An incident that took place at a safari park in Puebla, Mexico, is making headlines for how severe it could have been. A massive rhino attacked a family’s SUV and would simply not give up, despite desperate attempts from the driver to get away.

You can see it in the video at the bottom of the page. The incident was captured by someone from a different car, and it doesn’t look like the SUV driver did anything to attract the attention of the animal. Still, when it started its attack on the car, it proved relentless.

Not even the presence of park rangers scared it, though they did little to interfere. As you can see, the driver tried to follow protocol and started sounding the car’s horn, to little effect. The rhino wouldn’t give up even when the driver started the car and began to move away.

By the end of it, the SUV was pretty damaged, but no one inside was injured. In fact, the family told the local media that they had an extraordinary experience, though they’re unlikely to return to the safari after this.

As for what prompted the attack, the park says the rhino was just showing off to a female in heat. What would a guy not do to impress the ladies?!

“What happened is an isolated case related with the natural and wild nature of this species,” the park said in a statement, after video of the incident went viral.

“We took the necessary measures in order to avoid something similar happening again. The rhino was separated and is staying in another part of the park while the fertile period of the female rhino ends,” the statement adds.
