Much ink has been spilled on the Cybertruck's specifications, including here at autoevolution. Thanks to a picture shared by influencer Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) on X, we now know that the Dual-Motor Cybertruck has a 290-mile EPA range. This aligns with previous calculations, which placed the Cybertruck range between 268 and 293 miles.
Hours before Tesla delivers the first Cybertruck units to their owners, we still have no idea about the truck's specifications. Tesla is expected to reveal the juicy bits during the delivery ceremony, although some reports indicate that at least one detail has been revealed. Tesla tried to keep everything as secret as possible despite running the Cybertruck seemingly unfiltered across the country.

As expected, Tesla passed some Cybertruck units to popular influencers to test before the Delivery Day event. Although bound by an NDA, not all kept their social media accounts silent. Even the most inconspicuous picture can offer critical details, and that's precisely what happened with the Cybertruck.

Influencer Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) posted a picture of himself behind the wheel of the Cybertruck, seemingly taken in a parking lot at Giga Texas. Regardless of the location, Brownlee confirmed that he would have a video of the Cybertruck up online as soon as possible with all the details. However, one of them, arguably the most important, was already evident from the picture.

The image shows a small portion of the infotainment screen, including nine bars of battery and 265 miles of range next to it. This suggests the Cybertruck had 265 miles of range at about 90% state of charge (SoC). Because newer Teslas display the battery using the vehicle's estimated EPA range, we can determine the Cybertruck's best-kept secret: the EPA estimated range of 290 miles.

Of course, Marques could've easily edited the image if this was by mistake. Instead, he replied to a fan who pointed to the Cybertruck's range by promising to offer "all the numbers and precious details" in his upcoming video. This could also mean that he is confident the picture doesn't reveal anything, and Tesla will announce a whole different value during the event that starts in a few hours.

This value is not much different from what earlier rough calculations predicted. On Wednesday, Tesla enthusiast Troy Teslike used a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation to estimate the range between 268 and 293 miles based on the pickup's drag coefficient. Troy revisited the calculations after seeing Brownlee's picture, with a claimed 294 miles of range.

Based on insider information, Tesla will deliver dual-motor variants of the Cybertruck exclusively during the event, with the battery pack's capacity at 123 kWh. When the Cybertruck was unveiled in 2019, Tesla claimed 300 miles of range for the dual-motor version and 500 miles for the three-motor model. A single-motor Cybertruck with 250 miles of range was also announced, but it's less likely that Tesla will ever build it.
