It was still a Renault-powered, car with Kimi Raikkonen behind the wheel, that won the Australian GP yesterday, but Red Bull's star drivers weren't really up to the task. We have an idea why now!
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber test drove the brand new Renault Clio RS 200 EDC on the Sandown Raceway in Melbourne, and he must have been so excited he spent all his energy on the little hatchback.
Just like a Formula One car, the Clio RS uses a high performance engine, namely a 1.6-liter turbo tuned to produce 200 hp and fitted with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) cam followers developed from F1. And just like an F1 car, the Clio is really fast, reaching 100 km/h in only 6.7 seconds. We bet those numbers got Webber really excited!
We're joking, of course, since the new RS is a car that gets us all hot and bothered. But you can just see Webber's boredom in his facial expression, as he's doing his job like a good Renault PR man.
The Clio RS really is a sensational little car because for the first time it can also be relaxing to drive, proving extra flexibility, better seating and improved economy.
