Mahindra & Mahindra have just announced that they will be exporting and selling their Quanto SUV in Europe and South Africa. It is a compact vehicle, yet it is available with an optional extra row of seats, which brings the total number of seats up to seven.
It is currently only powered by a 1.5-liter diesel unit with 100 hp, which drives the front wheels through a five-speed gearbox. At its Indian launch, Mahindra officials did mention a more powerful engine is in the works, and the fact that it may be offered with four-wheel drive.
The Indian version also comes with stop/start fitted as standard, on all but the most basic of models, so we expect that, along with other features, such as electric door mirrors, MP3 compatible CD player, ABS and electric windows to be offered as standard on the European version.
