Most of the world knows the BMW E39 5er is a great car. Built like a rock, nearly indestructible and with amazing performance, especially in the M5 version.
However, even the mighty E39 can fail after hours of abuse and tire screech drifting. The photo above was taken at a Drive Hard, Drift Harder event and, unfortunately caught the moment when the rear right wheel came off, in the middle of the action.
It doesn't really matter what caused the unfortunate event, all that matters is that the M5 clacked as a true drifting warrior, on the tarmac, at an event filled with thousands of enthusiasts, as any true BMW should, not in the scrapyard, alongside lesser cars.
