Listen to Lamborghini LM002 SUV’s V12 around Monaco

Some might say that the PM002 is not a proper SUV because it doesn’t do the practical things, and even Lamborghini is reticent to call it their first SUV. However, this machine is one a true brute like no other, and it’s an amazing combination of body and engine sound.
The Rambo Lambo first came into existence in 1977 as the Chetah prototype, which Lamborghini was hoping to sell to the US army. This had a Chrysler V8 engine mounted in the rear, which caused problems in offroad driving, and the LMA002 was built with a new chassis and a Countach V12 in the front.

The production version finally came out at the 1986 and was named the LM002, though it earned the nickname “Rambo Lambo”.

The civilian model became popular with Saudis who like the massive power which was unmatched at that time. If they wanted more of that Lamborghini could also sell them a bigger 7.2-liter marine V12 that’s usually used in powerboats.

In the end, it never made it into military use, but serves still as a millionaire’s play toy in hotspots like Monaco.
