Lexus Turn Los Angeles Hotel into 3D Billboard

The Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles is one of the most iconic in the country, being featured in a number of movies. Named after US president Theodore Roosevelt, it opened it doors way back in 1927 and cost $31 million in today’s money to be built.

Relax, we haven’t turned into tourism industry reporters! In fact, this is all about Lexus, and their advertising campaign for the controversial new CT 200h, which we’ve recently covered in detail in one of our tests.

Some bright marketing exec must have had the right idea and turned the hotel into a gigantic billboard for the company’s hybrid product. With the help of some brilliant 3D projectors, the car has been turned into a completely new creature. Have to take our hats off to the folks at Lexus, as they persevered the entertainment value of the show, instead of focusing just on the car. Wall shift around and rotate like they were little domino pieces, gaping hole appear. Flowers, strange highways and other objects all play a big role.

But don’t take our word fore it! Just check out the video that Lexus has provided on its channel.

By the way, we would mention that the new CT 200h is priced at $29,120, plus $875 for delivery, processing and handling, which comes out to a total of $29,995, making this the cheapest Lexus in the range.

“For just $1,000 more than the cost of a non-luxury hybrid, buyers can indulge in a CT 200h with our proven Lexus Hybrid Drive technology,”
said Mark Templin, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division. “Lexus hybrids currently make up 90 percent of all luxury hybrid sales in the U.S., so you can imagine how excited we are to continue our leadership in this market with the CT 200h.”
