Subsequent to the unveiling last month, the Lexus LBX is now available to pre-order in the United Kingdom. The model that builds on the Toyota Yaris Cross is the company's smallest vehicle ever and will start arriving at dealers next year, with deliveries kicking off in March.
Full pricing details will be announced in due course, but Toyota's premium brand states that it can be ordered from £29,995 for the entry-level variant, which equals $38,157 at today's exchange rates. Interested parties can visit Lexus' UK official website to place a £500 ($636) deposit for the crossover, which is fully refundable.

According to Lexus, the entry-level LBX Urban will be delivered starting from June 2024. This grade gets 17-inch alloys, LED headlights with automatic high beams, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, and E-latch electronic release. It also comes with a 9.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and dual-zone climate control.

The Premium follows it, adding privacy rear windows, Tahara upholstery, heated front seats, and a wireless smartphone charger. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is also included, alongside the rain-sensing windshield wipers, single-color ambient lighting, and several driver assistance systems such as the safe exit assist, rear side monitor, pre-collision system with driver monitor, and blind spot monitor.

Building on the Premium, the LBX Premium Plus adds bigger 18-inch wheels, a power tailgate, smart entry, an air purification system, a head-up display, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Premium Plus Design brings a bi-tone paint finish, machined wheels, and perforated Tahara upholstery stitched together with red string. Getting the Takumi means enjoying more gizmos, including the Mark Levinson premium audio, multi-color ambient lighting, semi-aniline leather upholstery, a power driver's seat with memory, intelligent park assist, and others.

Sitting at the top of the family is the LBX Original Edition. Only 250 copies of this grade will be available in the United Kingdom, and it will be offered at launch in a unique bi-tone exterior color called the Sonic Copper, with rear pillar decals and special badging, riding on 18-inch alloys with a matte black look.

Powering the first-ever Lexus LBX is a hybrid assembly that mixes a 1.5-liter three-pot with two (front-wheel drive) or three (all-wheel drive) electric motors, a battery pack, and an electronic CVT. The total system output is 134 hp (136 ps/100 kW) and 136 lb-ft (185 Nm) of torque, up 20 hp (20 ps/15 kW) and 48 lb-ft (65 Nm) over the Toyota Yaris Cross. Lexus says it needs 9.2 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 kph) from zero, so it definitely won't break any speed records, but it should turn out to be an interesting proposal in the segment.
