The luxury Japanese automaker revealed the technically refreshed UX with more power, new technology, and a fresh battery pack for the US market in December 2023, and now it's crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
In America, the UX Hybrid models start from $36,690 for the current 2024 model year and from $37,490 for the 2025MY, but even though they look the same, they're different under the skin. That's because Lexus ditched the UX 250h designation to signal the 300h is the first model in its lineup powered by the fifth-generation hybrid system. Additionally, the entire UX range gains new tech and a better battery pack.

To keep the momentum of its great sales rise, Lexus is now announcing the arrival of the UX 300h in Europe. It's been a busy month for the premium automaker on the Old Continent, by the way, as they introduced in the region the all-new LBX compact crossover to offer "luxury with a contemporary twist." Plus, they also had enough time to present 'Time' (wink, wink) at the Milan Design Week 2024 with help from renowned artist to showcase the immersive art experience inspired by their Lexus LF-ZC next generation battery electric vehicle concept.

Additionally, those with a more adventurous spirit also got to meet the latest version of Lexus' mid-size luxury SUV, the NX Overtrail, which promotes "calm and fulfilling journeys, whether traveling around town or exploring the open road." Now it's also time for Lexus to enhance its Europe-specific UX compact urban crossover with the "more powerful self-charging hybrid system, new digital instrumentation and enhanced safety features."

Alongside the UX 300e all-electric version now stands the UX 300h self-charging hybrid, which combines the tried and tested 2.0-liter gasoline engine with the fifth-generation Lexus hybrid technology. As such, there's a more efficient 60-cell 222 V lithium-ion battery instead of a 180-cell 216 V nickel-metal hydride unit, a redesigned inverter now unified with the electric motor, and the changes bring 8% more power to the system – from 184 ps (135 kW or 181 hp) to 199 ps (146 kW or 196 hp).

The variants featuring the company's E-Four all-wheel drive system, a new permanent magnet high-torque motor generator is 5.6 times more powerful than the previous induction-type setup offering 30 kW (vs. 5.3 kW) and 84 Nm of torque (vs. 55 Nm) and the rear motor is also the generator for the system's regenerative braking. Naturally, the more powerful UX 300h is also speedier – it accelerates to 100 kph (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds (instead of 8.5s) for the FWD model and 7.9s instead of 8.7 for the AWD variant.

Inside, all the enhancements have led to a noise reduction of 1.7 dB in the cockpit, and there's an optional, customizable 12.3-inch digital driver's instrument display plus the latest multimedia systems - Lexus Link Connect with an eight-inch touchscreen display or, on higher grades, the Lexus Link Pro with a 12.3-inch screen. Last but not least, there are also other perks like expanded capabilities of the active safety and driver assistance features along with a new exterior shade - Sonic Copper.
