The 2024 Tesla Model 3 has apparently been leaked again. Photos surfaced online showing what looks like official images the EV maker plans on using for its website and possibly the media kits. Moreover, sources known for sharing the brand's plans ahead of time have indicated that the official reveal is imminent. Here's the gist of it.
The first image of the alleged 2024 Tesla Model 3 was shared on Instagram by an account named "cochespias1" which has shown netizens leaks on several occasions. A link published in their "Stories" section took us to a forum-like website where four rendering-like photos displayed the all-new version of the popular sedan without any camouflage.
It is possible that someone had access to the EV maker's official Model 3 'Highland' images and decided to share them with the entire world. We're saying that because of the reflection of a person holding a phone that's noticeable in three of the four leaked photos. However, these might soon be added to the Texas-based company's website and social media channels.
Even though we advise you to take this latest leak with a grain of salt, everything matches what we have seen lately regarding the refreshed Model 3.
The recent sightings in Europe included two heavily disguised Model 3s that rode on newer wheel designs. One car had silver rims, while the other one was equipped with what looked like powder-coated wheels. Those designs are eerily similar to the ones shown in these new photos.
The same images showing the red Model 3 that debuts all the new exterior design cues also confirm that the first leak was real – Tesla might be moving away from the "faceless fish" look that characterized its well-known sedan since 2017. If these leaks aren't going to be deemed fake, the novel headlamps and the front fascia redesign give us a Model 3 that's much more elegant and a tad bit aggressive looking. It is one good upgrade!
Although the body doesn't seem to have changed much, one major difference over the existing unit is revealed by the taillights that seem to have lost the inner part of their housing for an overall more minimalistic design. They now look like a futuristic "C" or an unfinished "U" turned on its side. Some could like it; others might now. What's certain is that it's more of an evolution, than a revolution.
Besides these new leaks, one other source that had previously brought people news about Tesla before they were released said that Friday, September 1, would be a "big day" for the automaker.
A Chinese website (Huxiu) even reported that the all-new Tesla Model 3 would have a starting price of RMB 199,800 (USD 27,528). The cheapest version of the existing model costs RMB 231,900 (USD 31,951). That coincides with yet another rumor about the EV maker dropping the price of the car thanks to a simplified platform and production process.
One other source on Twitter (X) also claimed that some high-level employees working at Giga Shanghai and/or in China were told they had to come early to work on Friday to be instructed about the launch of the Model 3.
Finally, the automaker also applied new hefty discounts for inventory Model 3s, which was yet another hint that the refreshed model was on its way. Let's hope it'll arrive stateside soon enough!
Everything hints at the Model 3 being unveiled on Friday. If it is to be so, then a new era begins at Tesla. The Model 3 should debut Hardware 4 and a redesigned interior too. It remains to be seen what will actually take place.
