Land Rover Discover TDV6 by Superchips

The specialists at Superchips managed to give the Discovery TDV6’s standard ECU map a number of tweaks meant to optimize the vehicle’s performance and efficiency. The company recently revealed the performance enhancing bluefin ‘Plug and go’ remap for the popular 2.7-litre Land Rover Discovery TDV6.

The Superchips upgrade boosts the 181 bhp recorded standard output of the TDV6 Discovery to a maximum of 219 bhp, with a maximum mid range increase of 40 bhp at 3,453 rpm. The torque has also been increased from 410 Nm to 469 Nm at just 2,578 rpm, with a maximum gain of 85 Nm at 3,453 rpm.

“This puts the Superchips converted Land Rover Discovery TDV6 within striking distance of the new 2010 3.0-litre TDV6 which boasts 241 bhp,” they say.

Moreover, the Superchips ECU remap offer potential economy improvements of up to 10 percent over the Discovery TDV6’s average 27 mpg fuel consumption.

Even more interesting is that Land Rover Discovery TDV6 owners can upload the upgrade by themselves in a matter of minutes. All they have to do is plug the bluefin handset into the Discovery TDV6’s OBDII diagnostics port and then follow the on screen instructions.

However, the original factory Land Rover TDV6 ECU map settings are stored within the bluefin handset for future use, which means the car can easily be converted back to standard.

The Superchips ECU remap, available at its UK dealer network, is suitable for both manual and automatic transmission variants of Land Rover Discovery TDV6 3 produced from 2004 onwards, priced at £445 including VAT.
