Lancia Delta Hard Black Goes to Venice Film Festival

As the main sponsor of the 2010 Venice International Film Festival, Lancia will also be providing the organizers with a fleet of new special series Lancia Delta Hard Black vehicles. The event is due to run from September 1 to 11. The Lancia Delta Hard Black is the company’s first production model to feature the exclusive gloss black roof and matt black body color scheme.

The car will wear the symbol of the Lion of Venice, the Italian flag and the Film Festival logo on their sides, and will be used to carry the top names and stars of the cinema to and from the Lido and on their visits to the red carpet.

The Delta Hard Black edition comes in a choice of two engine units: a 1.8 liter petrol unit that uses direct injection and turbocharging to deliver 200 hp and 320 Nm of torque and a twin-turbo 1.9 liter diesel powerplant, which offers 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

The Lancia Café will also be featured in Venice, offering the festival’s protagonists a chance to meet up in a refined but relaxing atmosphere. It will also be the place where the media will get together with new talents, producers, directors and actors for one-to-one interviews.

"The Lancia Café will be hosting events and meetings organised by Lancia as well as by production houses, leading magazines and cinema institutions for the duration of the festival,"
a company statement reads.

Lancia is no stranger to the movie industry. The Lancia Delta has been the official car of the world’s most prestigious film festivals since 2008, it has starred in original advertisements featuring Richard Gere and was also featured in the film “Angels & Demons”.
