Squadra Corse is the racing division of Lamborghini, and for the first time ever, they came up with a one-off for the road. This fellow here is called SC18, based on the range-topping Aventador variant and with the same kind of suck-squeeze-bang-blow as the Super Veloce Jota.
The 6,498-cc V12 has been tuned to 770 PS (759 horsepower) and 720 Nm (531 pound-feet) of torque, sent to all four wheels by the Independent Shifting Rod seven-speed transmission. Now that we’ve mentioned the wheels, the single-nut rims are wrapped in 20- and 21-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires specifically developed for this application.
Squadra Corse also equipped the SC18 with a telemetry system that measures all aspects of performance on the racing circuit, although that might be a bit gratuitous considering that we’re dealing with a one-off. The racing theme continues with the Huracan GT3 Evo and Huracan Super Trofeo Evo styling influences, which include the front hood, air intakes up front, side and rear feature fenders, fins, and air scoops.
Aerodynamics play an important role in the performance of the SC18, complemented by the three mechanical adjustments of the large carbon-fiber wing. The rear hood, on the other hand, increases heat exchange and improves cooling by means of no less than 12 air intakes.
The exclusive creation has been designed “in synergy with the customer and Centro Stile Lamborghini” according to the automaker from Sant’Agata Bolognese. In other words, the sky’s the limit as long as the pocket of the customer is deep enough.
Visible enhancements and red screen-printing beautify the carbon-fiber body shell, painted in Grigio Daytona to underscore the sportiness of the SC18. Lamborghini quotes “reduced weight thanks to the use of ultralight materials” but didn’t go into further detail.
The SC18 also happens to feature a ground clearance of 109 millimeters, making it hard to negotiate a speed bump without the help of the nose-lift system. Last, but certainly not least, the LED taillights, exhaust system, and aerodynamic diffuser are unique to the SC18. All in all, not bad of an effort considering the SC18 is even wilder than the Aventador SVJ.
