Back in 2012, we were treated with a crash test video of the Pagani Huayra. While we hoped never to see such a technical masterpiece putting its carbon fiber structure to the test in the real world, that time has come.
Thankfully, the one-off Huayra Monza Lisa that was involved in a Miami crash yesterday evening wasn't totaled. In fact, the Huayra will get back on the road once it receives the neccesary servicing attention, as Kris Singh, its owner, explains on Instagram.
The businessman and avid car collector was certainly shocked to see his 1.4 million baby being bashed while he was in the driver's seat.
According to Kris, the accident, which took place in South Beach Miami, saw another car (this looks like a Hyundai Sonata) hitting his hypercar while exiting a side street.
"I was traveling northbound on Collins Ave when someone pulled out from a side street and hit the rear passenger side of my Pagani Huayra. I was going the speed limit and I didn’t see it coming at all," the collector says on Instagram.
"Thankfully, the Pagani Huayra is built unbelievably strong and I didn’t feel a thing. Being in the heart of South Beach, there were many witnesses there to confirm that I was not breaking any laws and the car (seen in this photo) pulled out from a side street and stuck La Monza Lisa. I do not drink alcohol, I do not do any drugs or take any prescription medication and this was in no way my fault. Thanks to all of the people who came running to help," he adds.
Pagan has only built a little over 100 units of the Huayra, and given how other such machines have been fixed after much more serious crashes, we expect the Monza Lisa to be back on the street soon.
When you think that Pagani has just launched the 789 hp Huayra BC (only 20 units will be made), the timing of this crash become a bit ironical, right?
P.S.: We've added the crash test video mentioned in the intro below the pair of clips showing the aftermath of the Monza Lisa accident.
