Koenigsegg's Surprise for 2010 Geneva

Only a few days left until the 2010 Geneva Motor Show will officially open its doors to visitors and carmakers attending the venue have already announced their goodies to be on display there. However, Koenigsegg is one of the companies that are trying to keep things secret in a move probably meant to stir up interest for its Geneva booth.

No press release, no statement, no details. But the editors over at carsuk.net talked to some people at Koenigsegg and asked them about what's to expect from the Swedish brand at the Swiss show. Well, Koenigsegg remained tightlipped but did mention that the company is going to exhibit "something new". And that's it. Still no clarification on the matter so we can't tell for sure whether it will reveal a new car or a new technology for one of its models.

On the other hand, Koenigsegg emphasized that it won't display the Quant, a project that saw daylight one year ago at the 2009 Geneva. The company clearly stated that the car will come at the show but not as part as Koenigsegg's booth.

"The NLV Quant program was initiated and is wholly owned by NLV-Solar AG in Switzerland. The Quant is not a Koenigsegg Automotive car and was never intended to be," Koenigsegg said in a statement back in July.

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
