Kimbal Musk is the brother of the world's richest man. But he is a businessman and philanthropist in his own right. He helped Elon get the car startup going, he owns four Teslas, and has the Cybertruck waiting for him.
Kimbal, who is one year younger than Elon, owns the Model S, Model Y, and Model 3, he still keeps his first-generation Tesla Roadster and has a Cybertruck waiting for him in Austin, at the Giga Texas. Meanwhile, their father, Errol, who resides in South Africa, does not own a Tesla, regardles

He worked together with Elon Musk on that roadster back in the late 2000s. And it turned out to be a car that made the brothers A-listers. It brought them attention and priority everywhere they went, he told on the Graham Besinger's show.

They had to sell 200 Lotus Elyse-based electric vehicles to be able to get the financing for the Model S. He remembers that they lost money on every single car they sold, the startup was bleeding money, but it was all worth it.

It is obvious from miles away that the two brothers share the same business model, even though he calls Elon's views as "stratospheric." When Elon asked him for financial help, the first thing that popped into Kimbal's mind was: "If I don't help Tesla, I will regret it for the rest of my life." So he did help even though he had no money left to pay his mortgage. He risked bankruptcy to save Tesla. And it worked.

The Tesla Model S is his daily driver because, he says, it is his size. Kimball is 6'5 (1,95 meters). "I was a giraffe coming out of a cocoon when I was driving the Tesla Roadster," he says, laughing. With the Model S, that is not happening anymore.

He labels the Model S as the best car on the road and the best on the market since the Ford Model T. His electric sedan is equipped with the FSD and has a yoke steering wheel. Kimbal is sure that the steering wheels will disappear in around five years from now, and we'll just have to live with cars driving themselves around.

To demonstrate the capabilities of his Tesla, he sets it to navigate to the restaurant where he wants to take Graham Bensinger, the host of the show. It is his restaurant, one of an entire chain of restaurants operating in Colorado and Chicago.

The car drives smoothly to its destination, stopping to let pedestrians cross the street when necessary and safely changing lanes.

Kimball admits to being shocked every time he gets to drive an ICE-powered car. He says it is like using a Blackberry compared to an iPhone.

Country music enthusiast, he started learning how to play the guitar when he was eight years old. He doesn't write his own songs, but plays Johnny Cash's with so much passion that you might believe they've been his song all along.
