Kia’s Australian division is introducing the 2011 Model Year Sorento to the market, offering customers a long list of enhancements across the range.
All the 2011 Sorento models, from the entry level Si to the range-topping Platinum will be fitted with Bluetooth technology. The driver will be able to use steering-wheel mounted controls to operate hands-free mobile phone connectivity and media streaming.
Other enhancements that are being introduced across the range include a headlamp escort function: the low beam illuminates the area in front of the vehicle after it has been switched off, offering passengers the light they need to get from the car to the house.
The top two equipment grades receive upgraded in-mirror display rear view camera that comes with a higher resolution image and parking guide lines. In addition to that, the SLi and Platinum models now offer a leather finish for the instrument cluster housing, while also offering an automatic up and down (with a built-in safety function) front passenger window.
The pricing for the Sorento Si models remains unchanged, which means that the entry level model (the Si with a 2.4 liter petrol engine and two-wheel-drive) retails for a starting price of AU$36,490. As for the 2.2 liter diesel automatic SLi and Platinum models, these come with multiple enhancements for an additional AU$200. Thus the new starting prices for the vehicles stand at AU$46,190 and AU$49,190, respectively.
"Kia Motors is constantly working with, and forming strategic partnerships with, technology suppliers who can make the Kia experience more enjoyable for our customers," said Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Tony Barlow. "As new technology becomes available and if it passes our stringent quality controls, we make it accessible to our customers as quickly as possible."
