When we first met the first generation Ford Mustang Ken Block got all customized into beast mode we found it rather weird. However, getting to see that special V8 revving to high RPM in the Gymkhana drifting movies made us reconsider. Let’s face it, the vehicle is more than just great looks, and we’d pay anything to have it for half a day.
Sure, you’re not going to be able to test drive it, but you’ll be able to admire its performance in the vehicle’s full glory. That is if you’ll be present in Johannesburg, South Africa between June 12 through 14, when the crew will be doing their live gig.

I’m very stoked about this. It was announced today that I’ll be driving in a show with my three favorite TV presenters in the world: the Clarkson, Hammond and May show this June in Johannesburg, South Africa! I’ll be providing my tire slaying services in my Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR there,” Ken Block told his fans on social media.

We’re more than happy to hear things have taken their natural path, and the Top Gear team does what they do best: auto shows.

Hold your ponies, though, we’re not saying the Top Gear broadcast is back on TV. We’re referring to the live show BBC, and the band agreed to still host. “So as not to disappoint the thousands of people around the world who have already purchased tickets, BBC Worldwide has agreed with our joint venture partner Brand Events that the remainder of the tour can continue,” was the official statement.

In a way, it’s good to know Clarkson, Hammond and May stay busy with their car shows. It gives us hope for that future child Jezza was talking about the other month.
