Besides Toyota and their Mirai sedan, not many carmakers are playing in the fuel cell league. But here comes Hyundai, releasing official UK pricing for the ix35 Fuel Cell.
It's been a while since the first Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell SUV rolled into production; February 2013, to be more precise. Also, they still call the zero-emission SUV 'the world’s most advanced alternative fuel vehicles on the market'.

However, that's not the reason you are reading this. You're here because Hyundai announced UK prices for the ix35 Fuel Cell, so here's how the story goes: you can have the SUV for £67,985 ($102,771 / €92,757 at current exchange rates).

However, customers can use the HyFive funding project that will allow them to get the SUV with a starting price of £53,105 ($80,295 / €72,439 at current exchange rates). And they should go for it, as they'll save around £15,000 ($22,691 / €20,459 at current exchange rates) by doing so.

If HyFive doesn't ring any bells, you must know that it is a European initiative that aims to deploy 110 fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) from the five global automotive companies that make up the HyFive consortium, which includes Hyundai, BMW and Toyota.

For the amount of money mentioned above, clients will get the SUV equipped with a 100kW (136 HP) electric motor favoring speeds of up to 100 mph (160 km/h).

The maximum range announced by Hyundai is set at 369 miles (594km) on a single fill. Two storage tanks with a combined capacity of 5.64 kg are responsible for that, joined by a 24kWh lithium-ion polymer battery tasked with energy storage.
