Premature ending of the MotoGP season for Cardion AB Czech Rider Karel Abraham, as he decided to undergo shoulder surgery at the beginning of October. Due to the nature of the surgical intervention and the recovery he needs in order to be 100% fit to race, he will be forced to sit out for the remainder of the current championship.
Abraham injured his shoulder at Indianapolis, and MRI scans showed a separation which was unlikely to heal without surgery. However, Karel tried to keep on racing. But was forced to retire at Misano due to unbearable pain.

According to MotoGP.com, Igor ižmáY, head physician of the Department of Traumatology of the University Hospital in Olomouc adds: “When sufficient shoulder stability cannot even be achieved by targeted recovery surgery, is the inevitable next step. After the intervention, the operated shoulder must be immobile for less than a month after which period intense recovery may begin. Athletes with targeted stressing of the ligaments are recommended to resume full load after three months at the earliest.”

Cardion AB, ran by the Abraham family is looking for a replacement rider to substitute for Karel through the end of the season. We wish him a fast recovery.
