Cal Crutchlow will undergo surgery early this winter, to help draining the fluids which still keep his hand swollen after the misfortunate triple crashes during the British GP.
In early September, Cal Crutchlow flew home to the magic Isle of Man and had a medical check to determine whether his right arm needed surgery. The doctors prescribed medication and said things will gradually return to normal, without surgery.
His hand backed off a bit, but it looks like there is still some fluid blocked somewhere in there, and medication only is not able to make it disappear entirely.
According to Crutchlow, he does not feel the swollen arm when on the bike, but he admits things are not going as well as expected. Anyway, given the relatively long time until the surgery, we can figure out that his hand is not in a critical condition, either.
Crutchlow is said to have his first ride aboard the Ducati Desmosedici at Valencia, in the official post-race test, after having races for the last time for Herve Poncharal's Tech3 Yamaha team.
