With Cal Crutchlow having recently signed a two-year contract with Ducati, his team bos and very good friend Herve Poncharal spoke to MotoGP's website about his feelings and the future of the team in the past-Cal era.
With Poncharal being in the business for almost 30 years and Tech3 joining the world-class racing since 1990, he is not shy to say that Cal Crutchlow will most likely remain the top rider of the team. Hearing him say something like "What, do you want me to cry? Why do you turn the knife into the wound?" sounds like more than enough for a man who has developed a strong business relationship and a strong friendship off-the track with the English rider.

At the same time, the Tech3 boss admits that the move Crutchlow made is a very significant one in the career of a MotoGP rider: "I'm not happy to loose him, but he's going to be a full factory rider, he's going to have a decent salary. You have only six full factory riders on the grid right now and he will be one of them, it's every rider's dream to become a factory rider."

Cal Crutchlow will be aboard Ducati factory machinery from 2014, replacing the Kentucky Kid Nicky Hayden. Cal is currently 5th in the world standings behind Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi, 2 positions ahead of the best Ducati factory rider Andrea Dovizioso, his past an now, future team mate.
